Weights for Squatting

The weighted plates shown below are the official weighted plates in kilograms that a weightlifter would use to squat. The plates are shown in descending order from the most heavy to the least heavy. The red plate is 25 kilograms, the blue plate is 20 kilograms, the yellow plate is 15 kilograms, the green plate is 10 kilograms, the white plate is 5 kilograms, and the black plate is 2.5 kilograms. After the black plate, three chrome plates are shown which weigh 1.25 kilograms, 0.5 kilograms, and 0.25 kilograms respectively. The weighted plates shown are of the Eleiko brand which is a popular brand of weightlifting equipment.

This table provides a conversion chart from pounds to kilograms to the equivalent weighted plates. These amounts include the weight of the lifting bar. The lifting bar weighs 20 kilograms, or approximately 44 pounds. See first row of Weight Table.
