Step 1: Calculating the cubic feet of the stone

The most important part of step one is to measure correctly. In this guide we will be measuring in feet. The materials needed for step one include the tape measure, pencil, and paper. You need to measure the length, width and height of the stone you plan on weighing. Then you multiply the length width and the height together to get the stone&#;s cubic feet. Since it is best to have a higher cubic feet calculation than a lower one to ensure your equipment will be able to handle the load, you can round up. We will round up all the measurements for the rest of this guide.

For example: In the case when the stone has an arc located at the top, measure the height perpendicular to the top of the arc. We can then multiply the length, width, and the height together and obtain the cubic feet.

Sometimes you might have to measure the stone in parts and then add the cubic feet of the separate parts together.

Granite Weight Calculator

Enter any 3 values to calculate the missing variable

Enter the granite length (ft), the granite width (ft), and the granite thickness (in) into the Granite Weight Calculator. The calculator will evaluate the Granite Weight.

Granite Weight Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the Granite Weight.

GRN = GL * GW * GT/12 * 175

Variables:

  • GRN is the Granite Weight (lb)
  • GL is the granite length (ft)
  • GW is the granite width (ft)
  • GT is the granite thickness (in)

How to Calculate Granite Weight?

The following steps outline how to calculate the Granite Weight.

  1. First, determine the granite length (ft).
  2. Next, determine the granite width (ft).
  3. Next, determine the granite thickness (in).
  4. Next, gather the formula from above = GRN = GL * GW * GT/12 * 175.
  5. Finally, calculate the Granite Weight.
  6. After inserting the variables and calculating the result, check your answer with the calculator above.

Example Problem:

Use the following variables as an example problem to test your knowledge.

granite length (ft) = 10

granite width (ft) = 10

granite thickness (in) = 3

GRN = GL * GW * GT/12 * 175 =  ?
