On August 29, China's State Council Information Office released a white paper titled "China's Energy Transition" and held a press conference.
During the press conference, Zhang Jianhua, director of the National Energy Administration, stated that the white paper objectively demonstrates China's significant contribution to global green transformation. China is a driving force and contributor to the global energy transition. Over the past decade, China's annual installed capacity of renewable energy has represented more than 40% of the world's total.
The share of global non-fossil energy consumption increased from 13.6% to 18.5%, with China contributing at a rate of 45.2%. Through continuous technological innovation, a complete industrial chain and supply chain system, full market competition, and large-scale market development, China has achieved rapid growth in the new energy industry while also significantly reducing the cost of global wind power and photovoltaic power generation. Furthermore, China and Belt and Road countries are actively expanding cooperation in green energy initiatives through numerous projects aimed at providing clean, safe, and reliable energy solutions to benefit people’s lives in host countries.
