Are you interested in booking in a validation, but are not sure what to expect? This blog post will give you a detailed run-down on the HSMAG magnet validation procedure and reports.

HSMAG Magnet Validations are designed to be very simple for the client.

Once the validation date is booked in, a technician visits the site and conducts the testing of magnets. Various factors are taken into consideration, including magnet strength, product stream coverage, positioning/installation, condition of magnet, type of product, purpose of the magnet, as well as any unprotected locations or needs for additional protection. If necessary, an in-depth risk analysis can be conducted on the processing line to help identify any other areas where there is a high risk of metal contamination.

The magnet testing time is minimal, and your production schedule is taken into account to minimize disruption. The approximate downtime is usually 5-15 minutes, and in some instances, the line will need to be isolated.

The technician notes important information as they carry out the testing of each separator, and once finished on-site, these notes are forwarded on to the HSMAG office to be compiled into a HACCP-Certified report.

Our reports will tell you everything you need to know and more, as we believe it is crucial to provide our clients with all of the information regarding their magnets.

In compliance with the HACCP International Food Safety Standard MAGSEP 1-, HSMAG use currently calibrated gauss meters to obtain magnet strength, rather than dated and often inaccurate pull test methods. More information on this topic can be found here.

Risk assessments and recommendations based on the current MAGSEP Standard are included for high-risk areas/critical control points where possible metal contamination issues may arise.
